Meaning:

paLLi uNarththum 		- Waking up
ammAnai 			- Sri Ranganatha
then arangkaththu 		- (who rests) at the beautiful Srirangam
vayal 				- that is surrounded by fields
thiNarththa 			- full of
vaNdu 				- bees,
pirAn 				- being the most helpful,
thoNdaradippodi 		- and having the name Thondaradippodi Azhvar;
udhiththa Ur 			- the divine place where he was born,
enbar mAmaRaiyOr 		- those well versed in Vedas say,
sIr manniya 			- "is the great
thol nagar 			- old city
maNdangkudi 			- of Thirumandangudi".

Vyakhyana Saram:
This second thaniyan for Thiruppalliyezhuchchi was written by another acharya of Ramanuja, Thiruvaranga Perumal Araiyar. The thaniyan states that Thondaradippodi Azhvar who stands at the height of being in His service was born in the divine and ancient city of Thirumandangudi, and that this city is celebrated always by great vaidikas.
